PSY 9703 - Design of Psychological Research 勞資互動心理研究  

Research methods in the behavioral sciences, their implementation, and the relationship of modern concepts of research design and measurement to a business framework.
STA 9708 - Quantitative Methods for Human Resource Management
                     and Business Decisions 人資管理統計及商業決策
 

This course provides MBA students with the statistical tools and concepts needed in business applications. Topics include: proper tabular and chart presentation; interpretation of descriptive measures; applications of probability and the normal distribution; confidence interval estimation; hypothesis testing; simple linear regression models; multiple regression models and time series analysis. Emphasis is on understanding data analysis and interpretation. Computations are facilitated using standard spreadsheet software, a valuable tool for the students. Discussions on ethical issues are integrated throughout the course. This course will enhance skills in critical thinking, as well as oral and written communication. Techniques learned in this course can be immediately put to use by the student.
PSY 9751 - Leadership and Group Processes 領導統御學與團體演進 

Methods and techniques utilized in the investigation of leadership and group dynamics. An analysis of face-to-face groups, intergroup friction, impact of the leader on the group, and attitude change techniques. This course provides a grounding in modern leadership theory, power, influence, and the managerial transformation of work organizations. Topic include leadership styles, the impact of management on establishing organizational culture, conflict and negotiation in work organizations, and the effective management of groups and work teams.
PSY 9760 - Psychometric Methods 心理測量(學)的方法 

Analysis of measurement problems, including psychometric methods, scaling, principles, and techniques of test construction and test evaluation.
PSY 9786 - Seminar in Contemporary Psychological Topics: 
                     Cross Cultural 跨文化人力資源管理 

This course will focus on gaining global perspectives on cross-cultural issues as they apply to Human Resource Management. A cross-cultural lens will be applied to a wide array of topics including leadership, motivation, job satisfaction, staffing, development, and others.

In addition, students will complete an Applied Research Experience Part I and Part II that will be integrated as components in the above courses. Specifically, students will design and conduct a research project that involves examining organizational phenomena. Students will gain experience in all aspects of the research process including generating hypotheses, reviewing research literature, creating a viable research design methodology, collecting research data, analyzing data, and determining results.
PSY 9786 - Strategic Human Resource Management 人力資源管理策略 

This course will focus on examining human resources as a strategic competitive advantage for work organizations. Topics such as organizational design, alignment of human resource functions with organizational strategy, and the impact of human resource management on bottom line organizational performance will be discussed.
PSY 9786 - Training and Development 訓練與發展 

This course will prepare students to design effective training and development programs aimed at helping employees acquire the critical competencies required to be effective leaders in work organizations. Various cutting edge developmental techniques such as executive coaching, experiential learning and web-based/multimedia knowledge management systems will be discussed.
PSY 9789 - International Human Resource Management and
                     Organizational Behavior 國際人資管理與組織行為 

This course will introduce students to the various perspectives on human resource management and organizational behavior. You will learn to design human resource systems that drive performance in work organizations. Topics to be covered include: Staffing, Performance Evaluation, Groups and High Performance Work Teams.
PSY 9796 - Staffing and Personnel Psychology 人事管理心理學 

Survey of the field of personnel psychology and personnel research, including such topics as job analysis, selection, employment testing, Equal Employment Opportunity issues, leadership in organizations, employee performance appraisal, job satisfaction, motivation, and performance. The focus is on the individual employee as the unit of study.
PSY 9797 - Problems in Industrial Psychology II: Organizational
                     Behavior and Theory Topics 行為組織學 

Survey of the field of organizational psychology/organizational behavior, including such topics as organizational theories; organizational effectiveness; role theory; organizational linking processes such as power, authority, and leadership; conflict within organizations; changing organizations; and motivation and performance. The focus is on the organization and groups within as the units of study.
