Baruch College, The City
University of New York
Baruch College traces its roots to 1847, when the Free Academy, the first institution of free public higher education in the country, was founded in New York City to provide educational opportunity and superior academic programs. Baruch's landmark building at 23rd Street and Lexington Avenue occupies the site of the Free Academy.
The school was renamed in 1953 in honor of Bernard M. Baruch, statesman and financier. In 1968, Baruch became an independent senior college offering the AACSB
(Association to Advance
Collegiate Schools of
Business) accredited business programs from undergraduate to Ph.D. degrees within CUNY. It has since grown to become the largest collegiate school of CUNY.
Today Baruch is a thriving, urban, multicultural institution, and a senior college of The City University of New York (CUNY), the largest urban university in the U.S. and its third-largest public university system. Some 200,000 students are enrolled for degrees on 19 campuses in all five boroughs of New York City.
Baruch-CUNY students come form more than 90 different cultural and ethnic backgrounds, reflecting the diversity of New York City itself, the most demographically complex metropolis in the world. The diversity creates a rich social and academic environment that enhances the educational experience while preparing students for global marketplace.

International Executive MS Programs
In 2001, backed by years of experience in teaching a diverse student body, Baruch began a global initiative to offer its cutting edge Executive Master degrees in countries such as China, Singapore,
Taiwan, Hong Kong,
Paris, and Israel. Over the last
7 years, more than 2,000 students have successfully graduated from these programs. They received a Master of Science from the City University of New York and a certificate from Baruch; the same exact diplomas U.S. students receive upon graduation from these programs in the United
States.
The international outreach includes one-year Executive Master programs in Finance, Marketing, Management Information Systems, and Management of Human Resource and
Global Leadership. These programs are designed to give you the tools, knowledge, and insights necessary to achieve your career goals as a high level
executive.
Each program is cohort-lockstep in nature. A cohort or group of students follows the same program curriculum from its start to end. This type of program acts to build the network of contacts and relationships that is important to future business leaders. A typical program can be completed in ten to twelve months with start and end dates varying from site to site and program to program. The instructors are members of the faculty at Baruch and travel to the international sites to
teach.
Upon successful completion of your courses, you will receive a Master of Science diploma from the City University of New York and a certificate in your field of study from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch.
